COUNTRY LANE RV PARK
Area Information

"Not far from my hometown of Calgary, in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, there is a beautiful little town called Okotoks. About 10 years ago, the folks there decided they were going to live within their local environmental means. Today Okotoks can fairly call itself the greenest community in Canada, maybe the world."... Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper

Located in one of Alberta's finest recreation areas, Okotoks is a vibrant, friendly community with rivers, valleys, meadows and mountains. Okotoks is a place that is safe and secure, maintains small town atmosphere, has a pristine river valley, has quality schooling, and provides housing choice and employment options for young and old alike. It is a place of modest size with the sense of connectivity to people and place.

Okotoks is a 15-minute drive south of Calgary and is located in the Sheep River Valley. Stroll downtown in the shopping district of Olde Towne Okotoks and visit the unique gift shops and boutiques or stop in for a meal at one of the restaurants along Main Street. For the history buff, learn about the town's past by taking a trip to the Heritage House or pick up a map at the Station Cultural Centre and do a Heritage Walking Tour. This tour of downtown will introduce visitors to the lives of early settlers. Explore the surrounding region by visiting the Okotoks Erratic (The Big Rock), an enormous boulder from the Ice Age, or spend the day fly-fishing and tubing down the Sheep River. Okotoks has several parks and green spaces allowing citizens and visitors to enjoy the outdoors. Three golf courses allow golfers to practice their swings, surrounded by a pristine environment of prairies and valleys. The most productive ranching land in Alberta helps to drive Okotoks' economy, along with many regional resources that include clay, natural gas and oil. Major economic activities in Okotoks and region include beef processing, manufacturing, construction, and transportation. A variety of accommodations exist in Okotoks including bed and breakfasts, hotels, campgrounds, and an RV Park - our breathtakingly beautiful - Country Lane RV Park. There are approximately 20 full service restaurants, seven lounges, and several take out restaurants servicing the town.
